The William C. Wells family started the Wells Banking Company in 1887. In 2017, Copeland Development & Construction Co., Inc assisted the Wells family in bringing a locally owned and managed community bank to Platte City, Missouri. It was later chartered into Wells Bank of Platte City and officially changed its name to Connections Bank. The Platte City branch is considered the headquarters for Connections Bank.
