Sonoco Plastics Warehouse

A small team of twelve, in 1899, worked in a rented warehouse in Hartsville, South Carolina to make Sonoco’s first product, the cone-shaped paper yarn carrier. Since then, the company has expanded their product line and locations around the country. In 2000, Copeland Development & Construction Co., Inc. was awarded the opportunity to help Sonoco in their growth by building a 50,000 square foot warehouse in Chillicothe, Missouri, which they completed in approximately four months. In 2002, Copeland Development & Construction Co., Inc. was asked to add an additional 97,500 square feet to the original building and then added an additional 75,000 square feet in 2012. They later constructed a separate 75,000 square foot warehouse in 2018 and have performed numerous renovations over the last 20+ years. Sonoco is committed to the planet and people-first packaging. It provides solutions that help define brands, create unique customer experiences, and enhances the quality of life for people around the world. Our partnership has continued today as we continue to be asked to expand, renovate, and improve the location. For more information about Sonoco Plastics, please visit their website.
